Training Trends - Physicians Specialty Training Program

Concerns regarding training and workforce distribution in Australia has recently led to the implementation of basic physician training networks in a number of states. Training positions are offered at hospital networks (which comprise regional and rural centres in addition to major urban hospitals) rather than individual centres. Although very much in a development phase, such networks have the potential to significantly impact work satisfaction and quality of life for trainees.
