Scholarships
This scholarship places medical students with a doctor in a rural community. Students undertake a placement for a two week period every year for approximately four years. The placement may be in a supervised general practice, hospital, aboriginal community health service or other medical facility that provides primary care. An amount of $500 per week will be paid to cover for food and living expenses while on placement. Approximately 150 new placements are made availble every year. Scholarships
The Rural Australia Medical Undergraduate Scholarship Scheme (RAMUS) is one of a number of Commonwealth Government initiatives to encourage students with a rural background to study medicine. It provides rural students with financial assistance to meet the costs associated with moving away from their home to undertake their studies. The scheme is adminstered by the National Rural Health Alliance on behalf of the Commonwealth Government. Check out the website for further details....
