The AMSA Convention Melbourne 2008 line-up looks fantastic. We hardly need to remind you to attend the social program. But don't forget to take advantage of some of the opportunities to explore your specialty options - it will be far more entertaining and interactive than reading through the college websites!
Some things not to be missed:
The Careers Fair
With representatives from most of the colleges as well as locum agencies and the Australian Defence Force, now is the time to get your burning questions answered
Tuesday July 8th, 4-6pm, Washington Room
Royal Australasian College of Surgeons' Field Visit
Participate in workshops making use of the College's Skills Laboratory including suturing, skin procedures, laparoscopy and virtual training, and enjoy a tour of the lovely East Melbourne surrounds at the same time
Monday and Tuesday afternoon July 7th and 8th - Register at the Melbourne 08 Tradeshow booth from 830am on the morning of the visit
Sports Medicine: Perspectives from both sides of the white line
Hear about sports medicine from the perspectives of orthopaedic surgeons and sports physicians, and their patients! And what better place to do it than the sporting capital of the world (revealing our bias here!)
Tuesday July 8th, 10.20-12.00pm
A Journey Through General Practice
Learn about what general practice has to offer as a career from GP guru Prof John Murtagh
Thursday July 10th, Plenary Hall 4.00-4.40pm
...and there are plenty more interesting sessions on the academic timetable to attend with your hangovers!
