The Faculty of Radiation Oncology has released a promotional DVD about the specialty. The aim is to encourage medical students and junior doctors to consider a career in radiation oncology. The DVD is designed to give potential applicants a taste of the specialty through the eyes of those in the profession, including an introduction to how radiotherapy works using skin cancer as an example.
The DVD was released at the NSW AMA annual Medical Careers Day on May 31st. It was viewed by a number of medical students and junior doctors, many of whom had not considered the specialty before and have since expressed further interest in the training program. The DVD will be available from the college website in the near future.
