The training hospitals in Western Australia were reviewed by the AMA (WA) in 2004. The reviews are based on surveys completed by doctors working in the hospitals who rate the hospital based on performance in a variety of areas. The criteria examined varied from access to HR staff and pay related issues to satisfaction with term allocations.
These reports are a great resource (albeit in need of an update) for those looking to choose a hospital for internship or residency. They provide an objective assessment of hospital performance in key criteria which junior doctors consider important and give recommendations for areas which require improvement. They may be accessed online on the AMA (WA) website.
