Clinical Cases is an excellent resource for medical students interested in taking their knowledge to the next level. It is a great database of clinical cases which are categorised according to disciplines such as cardiology, infectious diseases etc. It was started by physicians at Cleveland Clinic and Case Western Reserve University (St. Vincent/St. Luke) Internal Medicine Residency Program.
Real life patients are frequently different from the textbook examples and most medical textbooks fail to force the reader to focus on the salient points of a particular condition. Case based learning often highlights common clinical decisions and considerations. It's a great way to bridge those knowledge gaps which will become painfully obvious to you during internship when faced with real patients.
