The AMA has released the results of the Work-Life Flexibility Report. This was an online survey of more than 600 junior doctors and senior-salaried public hospital doctors. The study found that 81% of those surveyed indicated they would like greater access to more flexible working arrangements. Doctors felt that they required more flexible arrangements to allow them to spend time with family, friends and to reduce work related stress. It was noted that the demographics and attitudes of the medical workforce are changing as more women than men are graduating from medical schools and doctors of both genders are demanding a better quality of life and working conditions.
