A large study, run out of both The University of Melbourne and Monash University is currently underway. This survey aims to examine the work/life decisions made by doctors concerning issues such as choice of working hours, location of practice and age of retirement. Changes such as increased female participation and a cultural shift which places emphasis on work/life balance has changed the dynamics of Australia's medical workforce, spurring this initiative. With the amibtion of interviewing 15,000 doctors this is set to become valuable source of information for medical workforce planners in the future. To participate in the survey click here.
