  I am wondering if anyone could provide me with some information regarding the possibility of a physician to undergo surgery training and vice versa. For example, can a neurologist receive a training to become a neurosurgeon? Thank you very much....

  Hi t0t0_boy Howard brings up an important option. There really is no limit to what you can do as a GP and many GPs have areas of interest and get extra qualifications in those areas. Remuneration is increasing and not that you have to go rural, but your options increase if you do and being a rural generalist can be quite lucrative. Also, have you considered a discipline which has a bit of surgery and medicine (eg dermatology, O & G). Neurology and Neurosurgery are both massive areas and it is hard to imagine that someone would be competent and...
