Hi! :-)
This is Jonas Schmalzl from Würzburg, Germany. Last year I graduated from highschool and in October 2008 I began studying Medicine at the University of Würzburg. However, within the first four terms I have to volunteer for 90 days in an hospital. I have the choice to either do this in an hospital in Germany but it's possible to go abroad as well.
After I got the opportunity to participate in an exchange year in New Zealand in 2006 I dreamed of going to Australia ever since.
Moreover Australia was recommended to me by several fellow medical students to have best medical facilities.
Can anyone who reads this help me to get the chance to volunteer in an Australian hospital. I am dreaming of going to Austrlia and getting to know your wonderful country but I can't find a way getting in contact with the right people.
Kind regards, Jonas
Volunteer in hospital!

Guten morgen Jonas,
Monash Medical Centre Clayton Campus, Vic. Australia has groups of volunteers from many cultural
backgrounds and ages.
Some of the tasks undertaken by volunteers
include filing, assisting in the medical library,
helping in pre-admission clinics, assisting in the
volunteer office, playing with children, guiding
visitors and patients around the hospital and
providing a bedside library service.
Not practising as a med student though.
All volunteer applicants must attend an interview
and complete a police check which is part of the
selection process.
