i have heard that it is extremely difficult for otds to get registra positions in surgery and dermatology.can someone tell me if it is the same for PSYCHIATRY

At the moment psychiatry is not a particularly competitive specialty choice, quite the opposite in fact. You might wish to consider why psychiatry is relatively unpopular.

Having said this there's been a fairly public case recently of a pyschiatry trainee who did some work on a TV game show (Saturday Night Bingo) who failed his final exams and last I heard was running for a position in the political world. He was best known for his characteristic "Noooooooo BINgo".

Dermatology is popular mainly due to the lifestyle, surgery for the prestige, position and remuneration.

Wow that dude was a psych trainee? haha :D
